OIC Welcomes Declaration of Principles Agreement for ending Libyan Crisis

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the agreement by the delegations of the House of Representatives and the General National Congress in Libya on principles to end the conflict in Libya which was signed in Tunisia on 6 December 2015. The OIC Secretary General, Iyad Ameen Madani, appealed to all the Libyan parties to adopt this agreement which forms a basis for a political solution of Libyan crisis and for the commencement of the process of building constitutional institutions for the Libyan state on the basis of democracy, justice and equality and for warding off the dangers of terrorism which threatens the unity, security and stability of Libya. Madani renewed the readiness of the OIC to contribute to the international and regional efforts aimed at ending the suffering of the Libyan people and responding to their aspirations for reconciliation and security within a united nation.
