OIC Holds a Specialized Training Course in Social Media Management

As part of the cooperation between the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language (KSGAFAL), the General Secretariat held a specialized training course in managing social media under the name of Linguistic Management for Official Communication Accounts at its headquarters on May 24-25, 2023.

It is worth noting that this cooperation falls within the framework of implementing Ministerial Resolution No. 13/49-C regarding the celebration of the International Arabic Language Day, issued by the 49th Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers in March 2023, in Nouakchott, Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

This specialized course aims to develop participants’ skills in preparing and drafting the content of social media accounts for official authorities in accordance with media and linguistic considerations and managing them efficiently and effectively. The course includes identifying the concept of social media, its importance, objectives, functions, areas of use, types, forms, and features, identifying the skills required in preparing the content of social media accounts, as well as persuasion mechanisms (linguistic and non-linguistic), and improving the ability to crafting content for social media accounts.

The General Secretariat had previously cooperated with the KSGAFAL in promoting and supporting the presence of the Arabic language, the language of the Qur’an, which culminated in the co-organization of the celebration of the International Arabic Language Day on February 2nd, 2023, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah.
