OIC Secretary-General Discusses with the President of FWI Ways to Empower Institution of Marriage and Family and Preserve its Values

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, received, in his office on Monday 15 August 2022, Mrs. Sharon Slater, President of the Family Watch International (FWI), and her accompanying delegation.

Mrs. Sharon reviewed the efforts exerted by her institution in the field of preserving family values ​​in various international forums.

During the meeting, bilateral cooperation between the OIC and the Family Watch International in the field of empowering the institution of marriage and family and preserving its values ​​was discussed. The OIC Secretary-General praised the efforts of the FWI to preserve and empower the family and enhance its role in society.

The OIC Secretary-General indicated that the relevant OIC resolutions and agreed international covenants and instruments call for preserving the values ​​of the institution of marriage and the family as the basic unit of society, stressing the readiness of the OIC General Secretariat to support the efforts of the Family Watch International and strengthen partnership with it in this regard.

It should be noted that the Family Watch International is an international is non-governmental and non-profit organization, established in 1999 and headquartered in the United States of America. The

FWI enjoys a consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council and works to protect the family, preserve its values ​​and enhance its role.
