The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Iyad Ameen Madani, had on Thursday 12th March 2015, received in his office at the General Secretariat, Ambassador Alhaji Mohamed S. Kargbo, Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Permanent Representative to the OIC, who presented his letters of credence to the Secretary General. During the presentation, Ambassador Kargbo conveyed the satisfaction of his country for the work done by the OIC in different fields and expressed his appreciation to the Organization for its valuable support and contributions in the fight against the Ebola epidemic that ravaged Sierra Leone and other neighboring countries in the West African sub region. Mr. Madani on his part commended the efforts of the people and the government of the Republic of Sierra Leone in containing the disease to a single digit level and hoped that it will soon be eradicated. The two sides also discussed ways and means to further strengthen OIC- Sierra Leone bilateral relations for their mutual benefits.
