The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has condemned the attack perpetrated against a mosque in the town of Shikarpur in Pakistan, Friday 30th January 2015, resulting in a toll of 40 dead and another 50 wounded people. Madani described these acts as disgraceful, barbaric, and unjustifiable under any pretext, and deserving of strong condemnation by all Muslims. The Secretary General called on all the components of the Pakistani society for solidarity and to rally against any attempts to spark off sectarian frictions and the spread of anarchy in the country. Also, the Secretary General expressed his deep condolences to the families of the victims and to Pakistan- people and government- along with his best wishes of prompt recovery for the injured.
