An OIC delegation is heading to the Republic of Chad, tomorrow, Wednesday, 29 January 2014, led by the Assistant Secretary General for Humanitarian Affairs, Ambassador Attaul Mannan Bakheet., who will be accompanied by a delegation from the OIC General Secretariat, in addition to an advance delegation from the Islamic Solidarity Fund of the OIC. The mission will meet the political leadership in Ndjamena as well as those in charge of humanitarian affairs in the country. The delegation will provide humanitarian support to the affected population in the capital city of Ndjamena and the areas bordering the Central African Republic. In Ndjamena, the delegation will examine the humanitarian ramifications of the tens of thousands of refugees in Chad escaping the tragic events in the Central African Republic. Refugees are facing difficult humanitarian conditions that require action on the part of the OIC in order to evaluate their needs in a bid to contain their exacerbating crisis and to let the Muslim world know about their tragedy.
