The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Iyad Ameen Madani ,strongly condemned the recent escalation of violence in Central African Republic and the reported mass murder of innocent civilians. The resulting massive displacement of persons – internally and across borders , added the OIC Secretary General , has deepen the already grave humanitarian crisis in the region. Mr. Madani also expressed his hope that the election of Ms. Samba-Panza, by the Central African Republic’s Parliament will lead to peace and restore stability in the country and therefore to the region. He urged all parties to the conflict to put an end to the violence , cooperate fully with the Head of the Transitional Government , facilitate delivery of humanitarian assistance , and live up to their African heritage and deep tradition of tolerance and to the true spirit of forgiveness in both Christianity and Islam.
