H. E. Mr. Arif Z. Lalani, Canadian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates and the Special Envoy of Canada to the OIC paid a courtesy visit to the OIC General Secretariat and was received by H. E. Mr. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the OIC Secretary General. During the discussion, both sides had useful and extensive exchange of views on various issues of common interest. Amb. Lalani commended the role and contribution of Prof. Ihsanoglu as Secretary General in projecting the OIC in positive terms in the international arena. The Secretary General thanked the Ambassador for his country’s interest in the activities of the OIC and hoped that Canada-OIC relations would further be consolidated under the leadership of his successor H. E. Mr. Iyad Madani who would take office on 01 January 2014. During his visit to the OIC Headquarters, Amb. Lalani also met with Assistant Secretaries General for Political Affairs, Economic Affairs, Palestine Affairs, Science & Technology and Humanitarian Affairs and discussed bilateral cooperation.
