Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, has strongly condemned the terrorist attack that took the lives of late Minister Mohamed Shatah, the highly regarded Lebanese statesman, politician and economist and other people and left several others injured in Central Beirut on Friday 27 December 2013. On this painful occasion, the Secretary General extends his heartfelt condolences to the families of the late Mohamed Shatah and other victims, to the Government and people of Lebanon, and prays to Allah the almighty to grant them mercy, admit them to paradise and heal the wounded. The Secretary General emphasized again the principled position of the OIC against all forms and manifestations of terrorism. He also called on all Lebanese political actors to work together to protect Lebanon and spare it of the dangers of strife and terrorism.
