Mr. Saleh Attia, Consul General of Algeria and Dean of Consular Corps and members of the Consular Corps accredited in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia, organized , Wednesday,25/12/2013, a ceremony to honor of HE Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Attia welcomed the guest of honor and the sponsor of the event, Ambassador Mohammed bin Ahmed Tayeb, Director General of the Branch of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Makkah Region, and HE Dr. Iyad Amin Madani, the OIC Secretary General elect. He commended the OIC Secretary-General as a Muslim figure with a long history in the service of the Muslim Ummah and defending its causes. He also highlighted the achievements and successes achieved by the the organization under his leadership, stressing that Ihsanoglu efforts did not stop at the political level, but went beyond it to promote Islamic solidarity, economic cooperation and science and technology in OIC Member States. Attia congratulated HE Dr. Iyad Amin Madani, , OIC Secretary General elect, for the high trust placed in him expressing the readiness of the Consular Corps to work with His Excellency to enhance and promote cooperation between the Organization and Consular Missions of the Member States to the Organization. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Dean of the Consular Corps awarded Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu the honorary shield and took a commemorative photo with the celebrated Secretary General .
