The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, arrived at the Indonesian capital, Jakarta on Sunday 2 December 2012 to open the Fourth OIC Ministerial Conference on the Role of Women in the Development of OIC Member States which begins tomorrow and would continue until Thursday. On the occasion, the Secretary General is expected to deliver an address which would highlight the efforts of the OIC General Secretariat in the past seven years to advance the status of women by enhancing their role and enabling them in the Muslim world and in the OIC and its affiliated institutions.
