The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, received at his office on 31 December 2007 Sheikh Raid Salah, President of the Islamic Movement in Palestine.
Sheikh Salah briefed the Secretary General on the developments in Al Quds and the danger surrounding the Blessed Al Aqsa Mosque due to the aggressions and excavations which Israel has continued to carry out in the precinct of the Al Quds Al Shareef, thereby threatening the Blessed Al Aqsa Mosque.
The Secretary General condemned Israel for continuing its policy of Judaization of Jerusalem, for its violation of international law and for desecrating the place of the Prophet’s night journey. He therefore called on the international community to put pressure on Israel to stop these practices and abide by international law and signed agreements.
