OIC General Secretariat expresses hope that unification of Syrian opposition would contribute to expediting peaceful resolution of the Syrian crisis

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the agreement of the Syrian opposition reached at the concluding of its meetings in Doha on 11 November 2012 on forming the "Syrian National Coalition of Revolutionary and Opposition Forces". The OIC General Secretariat expressed hope that the decision by the Syrian opposition forces to unify their ranks in supporting regional and international efforts to find out a peaceful solution to the crisis in Syria would respond to the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people in the context of preserving unity, security and stability of Syria.
