OIC Secretary General Participates in the Paris Donors’ Meeting for the Palestinian State

The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, participated in the Paris donors’ meeting for the Palestinian state held yesterday, Monday 17 December, in the French capital. At the meeting, the Secretary General delivered a statement in which he emphasized the support of the Organization of the Islamic Conference for the Palestinian people. He also commended the efforts of the donors and the determination of the international community to support the cause of building an independent Palestinian state and end the long suffering of the Palestinian people. He called for an end to the building of settlements and all Israeli practices capable of dashing the hopes of the international community, as reiterated both in Annapolis and Paris. The Secretary General announced that the OIC’s specialized financial institutions and funds will provide support when it comes to building the Palestinian state. Professor Ihsanoglu met with the heads of the participating delegations and the Palestinian delegation. He expressed his support for the plan put forward by the Palestinian National Authority to develop and build the economy of the Palestinian state in the next three years.
