Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), strongly condemned Israel's kidnapping of the two senior members of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), the former Jerusalem Affairs Minister Khalid Abu Arafah and fellow lawmaker Mohammed Totah, from the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in occupied Al-Quds. Ihsanoglu considered such kidnapping to be a heinous crime and an infringement of the immunity of both lawmakers, in addition to being a violation of the sanctity of the International Red Cross. The OIC Secretary General demanded the international community and the Quartet Committee in particular to take a decisive stand against these flagrant Israeli violations and force it to release the detained Palestinian lawmakers.
