of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), today 24th of January 2012, at Basman Palace in the Jordanian Capital, Amman. As the meeting touched upon the developments of the Palestinian Cause, King Abdullah II asserted the need for an actual and urgent movement to find a way out of the current stalemate condition that hinders the Middle East Peace Process. King Abdullah indicated that Jordan sponsors exploratory meetings between the Palestinians and the Israelis with view to end this situation. Ihsanoglu noted the urgency to search for alternatives for the current situation to get out of this impasse that not only threatens the Peace Process but the entire region at large. Meanwhile, the OIC Secretary General was briefed on the results of the visit of King Abdullah II to the United States of America that ended earlier this week. Moreover, the meeting discussed the current situations in the region and the bilateral relations between the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the OIC. Both King Abdullah II and Ihsanoglu reaffirmed the need to expand mutual cooperation between Jordan and the OIC, particularly in the scientific and health fields. It is noteworthy that Ihsanoglu had earlier visited Al-Hassan Science City where he met its staff and listened to an explanation on its contributions in both scientific and research areas.
