Ihsanoglu and Al-Waleed bin Talal Discuss Cooperation on Humanitarian Programmes

The Secretary General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, met on Monday 15 January 2012 Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz in his office in Riyadh. They discussed ways and means of cooperation between Al-Waleed bin Talal Foundation and the OIC on humanitarian programmes in OIC Member States. The Secretary General reviewed the achievements of the OIC in the humanitarian field in Somalia, the Gaza Strip, Pakistan, Indonesia and Niger, in addition to other programmes that the OIC is carrying out in Member States affected by natural disasters. For his part, Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal stressed that he was following up closely the OIC’s activities in all fields, stating that his foundation has conducted an analytical and comparative study of humanitarian activities in Somalia and has realised the importance of cooperation with the OIC in this domain.
