OIC Condemned the Attack on Senior Member of the MNLF

A spokesperson, on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), strongly condemned the armed attack on the life of Mr. Muslim Sema which took place on January 10, 2012, and described it as wanton terrorist act. Mr. Sema is currently the Vice Mayor of Cotabato City in Southern Philippines and a prominent member of the Moro National Liberation Front and leading member of its panel engaged in the ongoing Tripartite Talks between the Government of the Philippines, the Moro National Liberation Front and the OIC. These talks seek the full implementation of the 1996 Peace Agreement for granting full autonomy to the Bansamoro people in Mindanao. Ambassador Sayed El-Masry, Adviser and Special Peace Envoy of the OIC Secretary General, sent a message wishing Mr. Sema a full and speedy recovery.
