OIC Secretary General Expresses Shock and Distress at Loss of Lives in Bangladesh Due to Cyclone SIDR

The Secretary General of the OIC, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, in a statement, expressed his shock and distress at the loss of hundreds of lives and destruction caused by SIDR, a severe cyclone which hit the coastal districts of Bangladesh on Thursday , November 15, 2007 late in the evening. The Secretary General expressed his deep sympathies to the bereaved families and prayed to Almighty Allah to give them the strength to overcome their loss. The Secretary General also praised the Government of Bangladesh for taking quick and effective actions to address the catastrophe and for providing necessary relief and assistance to the victims and survivors of the cyclone.
