The Secretary General of the OIC Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has strongly condernned the suicide attack that occurred in the town of Baghlan in northern Afghanistan, which unfortunately killed more than 40 civilians and wounded a large number of innocent people. Conveying his profound condolences to the bereaved families, as well as to the people and Government of Afghanistan, Professor Ihsanoglu expressed his anxiety regarding the rise of insecurity and instability in Afghanistan and urged the international community to do more in helping Afghanistan to cope with the growing security challenges facing the country. He emphasized that those who are behind this heinous attack are enemies of Afghanistan and should be identified and brought to justice. The Secretary General further appealed to ail Afghans to close rank and come together in order to stop this vicious circle of violence and insecurity.
