The OIC Secretary-General holds talks with His Highness the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates

His Highness Sheikh Abdallah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the State of the United Arab Emirates received in the Emirates Palace in Abu Dhabi yesterday 29 October at noon Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary-General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference. The two parties reviewed a number of questions and issues relating to the support for and strengthening of the Organization of the Islamic Conference at the regional and international levels. During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdallah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the importance of joint Islamic action and reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates' support for the Organization's role in promoting Islamic solidarity among the Member States in all domains. For his part, the OIC Secretary-General briefed H.H. the Emerati Foreign Minister about the Organization's activities and development plans. Commending the United Arab Emirates' support for the OIC and its activities, he addressed the current international situation and its repercussion on the Muslim world and the Member States. H.H. Abdallah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan organized a luncheon in honor of the OIC Secretary-General and his delegation. In another respect, the Secretary-General, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, visited in Abu Dhabi the Zayed Charitable and Humanitarian Foundation. On this occasion, he commended the major charitable and humanitarian role played by this foundation, particularly in Islamic countries facing natural and humanitarian disasters.
