A spokesman of the Organization of the Islamic Conference in Jeddah welcomed the resolution No. 376-0 unanimously passed by the US House of Representatives on October 2, 2007 on the advent of Holy Ramadan and its expression of respect of Muslims of the USA and throughout the world and those made by US President George Bush at the White House Iftar Dinner on October 4, 2007 on the holy occasion. The OIC spokesman also welcomed the remarks of US President George Bush on Friday October 7, 2007 in his interview with the Al Arabia newspaper that "Islam was a great religion that preaches peace". The spokesman said that these were very positive developments and would go along way in creating confidence and the right conditions for meaningful and constructive inter religious and inter cultural dialogue.
