OIC Secretary General Condemns Suicide Bomb Attack in Iraq

Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) strongly condemned today the criminal suicide bomb attack which targeted an army recruitment centre in Tekrit on Tuesday 18 January 2011 and claimed the lives of tens of innocent Iraqi citizens and injured so many others, in addition to the material damages it caused. The Secretary General expressed his vigorous denunciation of such criminal acts at a time when the country’s transition towards is continuing its progress after the constitution of the Iraqi government and the move towards stability in Iraq. The Secretary General extorted the Iraqi people to rally up and hold fast to their unity and solidarity. The Secretary General also expressed his sincere condolences to Iraq, its people and leadership, and particularly to the families of the victims who lost their lives as a result of this reprehensible suicide attack, and prayed to Almighty God that Iraq be protected against any such prejudicial acts in future.
