OIC Secretary General receives the Russian Minister of Education and Science

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Conference, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu received in audience the Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Andrei Fursenko in Islamabad at the sidelines of the 14th Session of the General Assembly of the OIC Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) on Monday 11 January 2011. The Russian Minister, whose country is an OIC Observer Member, conveyed to the Secretary General his government’s long desire to expand and strengthen relations with the OIC. Both sides explored the possibilities of deepening institutionalized cooperation in the fields of Science, Technology and Education. They agreed to carry forward their discussion in this regard at the technical level to work on pilot projects in the near future.
