The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Mr. Tofiz Abdullayev, on 4th February 2007, presented his credentials at the General Secretariat of the OIC. Receiving the letters of credence on behalf of the Secretary General, Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs, Ambassador Ezzat Kamel Mufti, congratulated the envoy on his appointment as Permanent Representative of his country to the OIC and looked forward to an era of closer bilateral relations between the OIC and Azerbaijan. He commended the current leadership of Azerbaijan of the 33rd ICFM. The Assistant Secretary General and his guest also reviewed issues of common concerns and ways to enhance solidarity and joint Islamic actions.
