The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Conference(OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has been monitoring the latest serious flood currently affecting the capital city of Indonesia which has caused 25 deaths and made more than 300.000 citizens homeless. The Secretary General notes that this situation which disrupted electric power, water and food supplies as well as public transportation is a serious natural disaster which called for assistances to the affected persons. The Secretary General, while appealing to all international and Islamic humanitarian agencies to intervene in aid of Indonesia, expressed full solidarity with the country and its leaders and stated the preparedness of the OIC to extend appropriate assistances during this moment of need.
