The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, received at the headquarters of the OIC General Secretariat in Jeddah, on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, Mr. Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui, the director in charge of the management of Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency (BMAQ). They discussed ways to develop cooperation in order to support the efforts that BMAQ exerts in support of the city of Al-Quds strengthening the resilience of its steadfast people. During the meeting, H.E. the OIC Secretary-General commended the efforts of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in serving the Palestinian cause, noting the importance of the role played by the BMAQ, the financial arm of the OIC Al-Quds Committee.
The OIC Secretary-General stressed the need to follow up on the implementation of resolutions calling on Member States to support BMAQ’S budget and programs, stressing the General Secretariat’s keenness to cooperate in order to facilitate its tasks.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Cherkaoui presented the annual report of the BMAQ’s activities for the year 2023 and its projects to support the resilience of the people of Al-Quds in the areas of health, education, housing, women’s affairs, youth and childhood, in addition to special programs for vulnerable groups.
