The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) appreciated the case filed by the Republic of South Africa to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) against Israel, the occupying power, for committing the crime of genocide against the Palestinian people. It also welcomed the holding of the first hearings that included facts proving that Israel, the occupying power, has not fulfilled its obligations under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide (CPPCG) during its inhumane aggression on Palestinian civilians in Gaza.
The OIC also expressed its hope that the ICJ would take the necessary urgent measures to put an end to the crime of genocide committed by the Israeli occupation forces in the occupied Palestinian territory.
