His Excellency Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), received at the headquarters of the General Secretariat in Jeddah, on Wednesday, 3/1/2024, Mr. Muhammad Suleiman Aba Al-Khail, Executive Director of the Islamic Solidarity Fund (ISF). The Secretary-General commended the ISF efforts in providing humanitarian support to Member States affected by disasters and conflicts.
The meeting discussed preparations for the upcoming sixty-seventh session of the ISF Permanent Council, and the great importance attached by the OIC to the ISF as it represents the relief arm of the Organization and one of the most important existing Islamic charitable institutions. The meeting also underlined the need to support the Fund so that it can carry out its responsibilities in implementing development projects for the benefit of those in need in the Islamic world.
On the other hand, the two sides discussed the Fund's salient sustainable projects and emergency contributions to Member States in various fields.
