OIC General Secretariat Congratulates the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Winning the Right to Host the 2034 FIFA World Cup

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) congratulated the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, HRH Prince Mohammad bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and the people of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s winning the right to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup.
This came after the President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) announced that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia would be granted the honor of hosting the 2034 World Cup.
H.E. the OIC Secretary-General, Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, expressed the OIC’s full confidence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s ability to organize a successful, exceptional, and unprecedented edition of the World Cup as it has the necessary potential, experience, and qualifications, in addition to its human, logistical and infrastructure capabilities. The OIC Secretary-General expressed his wishes for good luck and success to Saudi Arabia in hosting this edition of the World Cup.
The Secretary-General commended the support of the OIC Member States for Saudi Arabia’s bid to host the 2034 World Cup, as the FIFA World Cup represents an ideal message of unity and inclusion, and reflects the framework of solidarity and the promotion of joint Islamic action that is in the interest of the world’s youth.
