OIC Condoles Journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh, Condemns the Continued Israeli Targeting of Civilians

Date: 27/10/2023

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) conveys its profound condolences to journalist Wael Al-Dahdouh, whose innocent family members were killed by the ongoing Israeli occupation forces’ bombing of the Gaza Strip.

It strongly denounces the continued Israeli atrocities that deliberately target innocent civilians, including members of the press and media and their families, in a bid to deter them from fulfilling their duty of uncovering the facts and the ongoing Israeli crimes in Gaza.

The OIC holds Israel, the occupying power, fully responsible for its ongoing inhumane acts targeting civilians, including journalists. More than twenty-three journalists have been killed since the beginning of the ongoing Israeli military aggression against civilians in the West Bank and Gaza as part of its attempts to confiscate the truth, silence voices, cover up its daily crimes, and prevent them from being brought to world public opinion. The OIC calls, at the same time, on the relevant international institutions to act immediately to stop the Israeli aggression, ensure the achievement of justice, and provide the necessary protection to the civilians, including journalists and media professionals, in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, as per the international humanitarian law and relevant international agreements.
