OIC Secretary-General and the Director General of IOM Discuss Ways and Means to Enhance Joint Cooperation

H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary General of theOrganisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), had a meeting with Mr. Antonio Vitorino, Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), at the latter’s headquarters in Geneva, on Monday, 27 February 2023 on the sidelines of the 52nd session of the Human Rights Council.

Both sides discussed the need to harness migration for sustainable development, counter negative stereotyping of migrants and implement durable solutions across the humanitarian, development and peace nexus. Theyagreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation in key areas, including mutual consultations, strategic dialogue and enhanced coordination.
