OIC Participates in the Inauguration of the Elected Somali President

A high-level delegation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), headed by H.E. Yousef Aldobeay, the Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs, representing the Secretary-General, H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, participated in the inauguration ceremony of H.E. President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud as President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, which was held in the capital Mogadishu on June 09, 2022.

On behalf of H.E. the OIC’s Secretary-General, the Assistant Secretary-General, delivered a speech in which he commended the process of the peaceful transfer of power, expressing his hope that this step would lead to more prosperity, development, and stability for the Federal Republic of Somalia.

The Secretary-General wished the elected president success in his new mission, praising the efforts made by the former president during his tenure.
