His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister of the State of Kuwait, received today, Thursday, June 09, 2022, at Seif Palace in Kuwait, H.E. Hissein Brahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), who is on an official visit to the State of Kuwait.
During this meeting, the Secretary-General praised Kuwait's pioneering role within the OIC and its many contributions to promoting joint Islamic action, as well as Kuwait's contribution to development projects in the Member States and the provision of humanitarian aid to many of them.
For his part, the Kuwaiti Prime Minister welcomed the Secretary-General, wishing him more success in his duties, praising the important role played by the OIC in uniting the Member States to face political, economic, and development challenges. He stressed the readiness of the State of Kuwait to provide more support to enhance the OIC’s role to enable it to respond to the aspirations of its Member States.
The two sides touched on several current regional and international issues that require coordination of positions among the OIC Member States.
