Special Envoy of the OIC Secretary-General for Africa holds Talks with ECOWAS Mediator

Mr. Nassirou Bako Arrifari, the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Africa, on 01 June 2022, met with Mr. Goodluck Jonathan, former President of Nigeria and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) mediator in the crisis of Mali.

During this meeting, the OIC Special Envoy delivered a message from the OIC Secretary-General, H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim Taha, to the ECOWAS mediator.

The meeting was an opportunity to evaluate his recent visit to the heads of state of the ECOWAS region and to review the challenges related to the political transition in Mali, as well as in Burkina Faso and the Republic of Guinea, in the context of the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the ECOWAS scheduled on 04 June 2022 in Accra (Republic of Ghana).
