The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), H.E. Mr. Hissein Brahim TAHA, received on 17 May 2022, in his office, H.E. Mr SHIMMURA Izuru, Consul General of Japan in Jeddah, who was appointed by the Government of Japan as Representative to the OIC.
Mr. SHIMMURA reiterated the desire of Japan to strengthen its cooperation with the OIC and its Member States in areas of mutual interest.
The Secretary-General commended Japan as an important development partner of OIC Member States and expressed the readiness of the General Secretariat to further promote dialogue and cooperation with Japan.
