OIC General Secretariat Expresses its Deep Regret over the Events of the Tribal Violence in Darfur

The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation has expressed its deep regret over the recent tribal violence that took place in the Kreinik area of West Darfur province, which claimed the lives of many innocent civilians.

The General Secretariat called on all parties to show self -restraint and embrace dialogue as a way of solving all the problems that arise between the population groups, as Darfur has been known for its people with wisdom, tolerance and respect for the other.

In this context, the General Secretariat presented its deepest condolences to the parents and families of the victims who fell during these recent bloody events. It also expressed the hope that the Sudanese parties adhere to the Juba Peace Agreement and the associated security arrangements that benefit security and stability on Sudan and its people.

The General Secretariat expressed its confidence that the Sudanese are able to solve their problems through dialogue and implementation of the Sudanese national plan for protecting civilians.
