The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) congratulated the government and people of the Republic of Turkmenistan on the good conduct of the presidential elections of 12 March 2022.
Commending the elections, Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha said the process was transparent, nationalistic and professionally run.
He also paid tribute to the people of Turkmenistan, who voted in large numbers with a high sense of responsibility and a firm resolve to contribute to deepening democracy in their country. The Secretary General wished Turkmenistan continued progress, prosperity and success on its course to build a better future for its people and project a positive image as a leading Muslim nation.
For the record, the General Secretariat had sent a panel of experts to observe presidential elections in Turkmenistan at the invitation of Turkmenistani government, particularly the Central Election Commission.
