The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) hosted at its headquarters today, Monday, September 06, 2021, a photo exhibition themed (Internationally Recognized Kazakhstan), which commemorates the thirtieth anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence in the presence of Ambassador Peric Arin, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the OIC and permanent delegates of the OIC's Member States, representatives of its organs, and officials of the General Secretariat.
In his statement delivered by Ambassador Samir Bakr Diab, Assistant Secretary-General for Palestine and Al-Quds Affairs, Dr. Yousef A. Al-Othaimeen, the OIC's Secretary-General indicated that Kazakhstan is an active OIC's member, expressing his appreciation for its adherence to the OIC's principles and its positive contributions to joint Islamic action. Al-Othaimeen referred to Kazakhstan's hosting of the First Islamic Summit on Science and Technology in September 2017, its launch of the Islamic Convergence Initiative in 2016, and its hosting of the Permanent Headquarters of the Food Security Organization (the specialized organization established in 2016).
For his part, Ambassador Arin said that although his country celebrates the anniversary of its independence as a modern state, the history of the Kazakh people goes deep in history. It is noteworthy that Kazakhstan celebrates throughout 2021 the anniversary of its independence, which was declared on December 16, 1991.
