OIC Secretary General holds telephonic conversation with Tunisian FM over latest developments in Tunisia

Following up on the current political developments in the Republic of Tunisia, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen, held a telephonic conversation today morning with the Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Expatriates, Mr Othman Jerandi.

Discussing with the Tunisian FM the latest developments in the country, Dr Al-Othaimeen stressed the OIC’s committed support to the Tunisian people, expressing hope that the country will fast overcome the current phase and regain stability and calm in response to the aspirations of Tunisians for welfare and stability.

The telephone conversation was an opportunity for the Secretary General to express satisfaction at the remarkable record of cooperation between the OIC and the Republic of Tunisia. Dr Al-Othaimeen also hailed the country’s effective role in and constructive contribution to the OIC mandate, stating that he looks forward to greater prospects for stronger bilateral cooperation in areas of interest to the OIC, Tunisia and its genuinely kindhearted people.
