The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) is following with great interest the recent political developments in Somalia. As the country heads towards elections, the OIC urges all Somalian parties involved to resume dialogue at the earliest possible time, stressing the need to combine efforts to end disputes and reach an all-inclusive agreement, and drive forward a vision of Somalia freed from the specter of violence and moving on towards progress and prosperity.
In this connection, the OIC General Secretariat reaffirms that it stands in full support of Somalia on its path to sustainable peace, stability and development for all.
