OIC Observer Team to Monitor Parliamentary Elections in Bangladesh

Upon the invitation of the Bangladesh Election Commission, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, dispatched a high-level Election Observation Team led by Ambassador Hamid Opeloyeru, Assistant Secretary General for Economic Affairs to the Republic of Bangladesh to follow the National Parliamentary elections scheduled to be held on 30 December 2018.

The participation of the OIC in observing the elections in Bangladesh is part of its continuous endeavor to promote democracy and good governance in the Member States.
