The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) expressed its strong condemnation of the terrorist attack perpetrated on Tuesday, 25 December 2018, against the Libyan Foreign Ministry in Tripoli, resulting in a number of fatalities and injuries among innocent people.
The Secretary General, Dr. Yousef Al-Othaimeen, described it as a criminal and brutal act aimed at impeding the pro-national dialogue efforts and at destabilizing the country. The Secretary General urged the local authorities to extend every effort to track down the perpetrators and those standing behind them, and to bring them to justice. He expressed his profound condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government and people of Libya over this painful event and the loss of precious lives, while wishing a prompt recovery for the injured.
Dr. Al-Othaimeen renewed the OIC’s unwavering stand against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, irrespective of their source, and expressed the OIC’s steadfast support for the Government of Libya in its vigorous combat against terrorism.
