The Secretary General of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, strongly condemned the terrorist car bomb attacks in the Somalian capital Mogadishu, on Saturday 22 December 2018, which killed at least 15 people and wounded many others.
Dr. Al-Othaimeen expressed his regret over the terrorist attack carried out by Al-Shabaab terrorist group, which claimed responsibility for the attack. He also expressed his deep sympathy and sincere condolences to the families of the victims and to the Government and people of Somalia, wishing prompt recovery to the wounded.
The OIC Secretary General reiterated the OIC’s full solidarity with the Somali authorities in their ongoing struggle against terrorism. He called on the international partners of Somalia to provide further support to and strengthen partnership with Somalia to eliminate the threat that Al-Shabaab terrorist group continues to pose to regional peace and security.
