The OIC is organizing a workshop in the Houses of Parliament, London, on 30 November 2018, on Muslims in the United Kingdom.
The workshop examines misinformation and its impact on the Muslim population and explores the roles of youth, leadership, identity, and social media in tackling Islamophobia in the UK.
By examining the successes of Muslims in Britain, it may be possible to develop a road map to assisting Muslim communities elsewhere in Europe.
Participants include national representatives from major Muslim umbrella organizations; heads of Muslim women’s organizations and groups; Prominent civil society voices and role-models from the media and popular culture sectors; and leading young Muslims from various sections of UK civil society.
The workshop is being organized in coordination with The All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on British Muslims, which was established by Members of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords to examine a broad range of issues that are of concern to British Muslims.
This event is part of the OIC Secretary General’s engagement strategy for Muslims in Europe.
