The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen, strongly condemned the Al-Shabaab attack, on 26 November 2018, on a religious center south of the city of Galkayo in Somalia, which killed dozens of persons and wounded many others.
Dr Al-Othaimeen stressed that those who sow terror by killing innocent people are the enemies of peace, indicating that the outright rejection of terrorism in all its forms is a fundamental principle of the OIC.
The OIC Secretary General offered his condolences to the bereaved families and to the Government of the Republic of Somalia, wishing prompt recovery to the wounded. The OIC will support the Somali authorities in all efforts and initiatives for peace and reconciliation to prevail in the country, he stressed.
