The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Dr Yousef Al-Othaimeen, inaugurated a ceremony in remembrance of Kashmir’s Black Day at the General Secretariat in Jeddah, on 19 November 2018.
The ceremony and the symposium that followed, organized by the Consulate General of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Jeddah, took place in the presence of Pakistan’s Consul General Mr Shahryar Akbar Khan, along with the Member States’ permanent representatives to the OIC and diplomatic corps.

The OIC is closely following the developments of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Dr Al-Othaimeen added, stressing that the OIC Independent Permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC) is monitoring the gross violations of human rights in Indian-occupied Kashmir.
Moreover, he stressed that lasting peace in southeast Asia can only be achieved through a just and lasting settlement of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute based on UN resolutions.
