The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) strongly condemned the terrorist bombings that took place on Friday, 9 November 2018, in the Somali capital Mogadishu, and killed and wounded several people. The OIC reiterated its position in rejecting and denunciating all forms of violent extremism and terrorism.
Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, the OIC Secretary-General, stated that these criminal acts aim at destabilizing the security and stability in Somalia, confirming the OIC’s full solidarity with the Somali government in its war against terrorism. He stressed his confidence that Somalia would overcome this stage and continue its steady march towards regaining stability and prosperity.
Al-Othaimeen extended his deepest condolences to the families of the victims and to the Somali Government and people, wishing the wounded speedy recovery.
