The OIC and Khalid Al-Faisal Institute Sign MoU to Confront Extremism

In order to coordinate their mutual efforts in the area of confronting extremism and spreading the values of tolerance and moderation, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Institute at King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 7 November 2018.

HRH Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Prince of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, graced the signing ceremony. The MoU was signed by Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, the OIC Secretary General, and Dr. Abdulrahman bin Obaid Al-Youbi, Rector of King Abdul Aziz University.

The domains of cooperation between the OIC, represented by Sawt Al-Hikmah (Voice of Wisdom) Center, and Prince Khalid Al-Faisal Institute include conducting studies and research on extremism and terrorism and spreading the values of moderation, tolerance, justice, understanding and peace among peoples.

Both sides will also undertake joint activities, including holding conferences, seminars, lectures, programs and panel discussions on countering extremist ideology and advocacy of tolerance and moderation, as well as organizing periodic meetings with the academics, thinkers, and researchers from different cultures and civilizations, officials of relevant authorities, and university professors to address the emerging terrorism issues.
