H.E. Dr. Yousef A. Al Othaimeen, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) received in his office H.E. Mrs. Fatma Betool, Minister of Family and Social Policy of the Republic of Turkey and the current chair of the Women’s Ministerial Conference, and H.E. Mrs. Esra Albairak, chair of the Women Advisory Committee, on the occasion of the workshop being held at OIC on Capacity Building of National Institutions Concerned with Women’s Promotion and Empowerment for the OIC Member States, on December 17-18, 2017, and the meeting of the Women Advisory Committee.
The Secretary General expressed the OIC’s interest in empowering women in the Member States in all walks of life and in boosting cooperation between the Member States and among OIC Organs in favor of achieving the anticipated objectives as established in the OIC Plan of Action for the Advancement of Women (OPAAW).
On her part, the Turkish Minister expressed thanks to the Secretary General for the OIC support in the implementation of the ministerial resolutions on women’s empowerment and affirmed her Government’s keen interest in diligently following up on the implementation of the resolutions in question.
